Car accident, Insurance, How does it work?
I was in a car accident yesterday and it was deemed not my fault. They guy rammed me with a truck, while i was driving a car. My whole back end was destroyed and the estimate at a local dealership came out to about 6000 dollars. The dealership said that their might be some internal damage to the frame that they can’t see but if it is the frame, can i ask the other guys insurance, the one paying for rental, coverage, etc, to give me market value of my car, if it is the frame, My cars value is $18,125. Also i have a slight neck pain from the whiplash, Do I tell his insurance about this?
I just moved back within the states, So i completely forgot how everything works.

When I was rear ended by another vehicle being pushed into me my insurance company dealt with the other guy’s insurance company completely. They made sure I was not injured and if I felt any pain they reported to his insurance and they took care of it. My car also was thought to just have body and frame damage and was estimated around $5700. I got the check and took it to my guy and they found loads of other problems. Again my body repair man and insurance dealt with everything, they got the extra $6000 to finish the repairs. Really if your insurance company is good they will deal with everything and decide what needs to be done. In the end it would have made more sense to total out the car, but they had already put money into the body so they just finished off the work. Talk to your insurance first, see what they say to do.
**Wow Bro John, you had it rough. I never had to pay a cent. Not even when I went into the doc. It was taken care of immediately. I think this scenario can really differ based on who you have for insurance. Everything for mine went off without a hitch and without and stress for me. The most I had to do was go to court to testify against the guy who caused the accident and was fighting the ticket. I got paid for my time in court and mileage and he got a ticket and a little jail time.

If someone does livery work with regular insurance. would they be covered in the event of an accident?
I noticed people picking up passengers at the airport with regular license plates. I think its illegal cause I seen other guys with TLC or livery plates. What happens to them if they get into an accident or if police do a road check? this is in new york

If the auto insurance is not registered at the insurance company that the car is being used for business use or commerical use and there is a claim, the insurance company may not pay.

How much will this traffic citation cost me and how does the insurance work? (california)?
I just received a ticket for not having insurance while driving. Basically I hit the guy in front of me (small amount of damage to his car, nothing to mine), and he called the police. The policeman wrote up a “Traffic Collision Report” stating I didn’t have insurance, etc., then wrote me a traffic citation (says it’s an infraction) for not having insurance at the time.
While this happened my mom was actually -getting- me in insured so I got insured maybe half an hour to an hour after the accident happened. The citation he gave me is just a “Notice to Appear” that says I need to go to court.
What I’m wondering is am I going to have to pay the guys insurance company for damages and how much is the court probably going to make me pay for not having insurance at the time (I actually might have had insurance but I definitely didn’t have proof on me).
About his insurance: I don’t know much about insurance and he didn’t seem to either. All he knew was that he (supposedly) has “really good” insurance. I’m not sure how that changes anything but just letting you guys know.

Insurance is usually from midnight to midnight. ~
If your mother bought it at the time you were driving you may be OK. ~
If your insurance was bought that day, take the certificate with you and explain you just didn’t have it with you. Which is the truth.
